Gupta studied B.F.A (Painting) under Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidiyalay (University) (Chattisgarh), India. from 2002 to 2006. Gupta has been exhibiting is his works regularly since 2006.
He is the recipient of Overseas Travel Grant from ‘Institute for Regional Economics & Social Design, IRESD’ Volgograd, Russia to participate in the IVth Annual Festival "Excuse me, have you seen Mr. Losev?" an Artist-in-Residence program titled "Creation of the Mir" held in Volgograd, Russia in May 2019. Gupta received the prestrigious 'Late Gunavant Hanamant Nagarkar Award' in the '129th Annual All India Art Exhibition' organized by 'The Bombay Art Society' held in Mumbai, India in March - April 2021.
He was invited and participated in a month long ‘Artists Residency Program’ at the prestigious ‘Baltic Gallery of Contemporary Art’ in Ustka Poland in July 2019 where he conducted a short solo exhibition of his works titled ‘Czy jesteÅ›my szczęśliwi?’ literally means ‘Are we all happy?’, held at ‘Centre for Creative Activities’ in Ustka, July, 2019. He also participated in another Artists Residency Program at AIR Frosterus (Kattilakoski Cultural Cooperative) in Karasamak Finland in June-July 2016.
Gupta participated in the‘1st Dafen International Oil Painting Biennale’ held from November, 2018 to February, 2019 at Redcube Public Art Museum & Dafen Art Museum in Shenzhen, China. His work was exhibited in the ‘17th Asian Art Biennale held in Dhaka, Bangladesh’ held at ‘The National Gallery of Bangladesh’ in December, 2016.
His works have been shown in Seven Solo Exhibitions in various cities of India and one in London (UK) at the galleries of ‘The Nehru Centre’ in June, 2013 titled ‘Remembrance of Things Past’. Gupta was invited by the ‘Cultural Wing of The High Commission of India’ in London. His other important One Man Shows were titled ‘In Search of Lost Time’, ‘Down Memory Lane’, ‘Through Concepts & Ideas' etc which were held in Mumbai 2012, Chennai 2011 and in Kolkata 2009 and more.
Gupta has also participated in numerous Group shows and All India Art Exhibitions. His works were displayed at the Annual Exhibitions of the prestigious galleries of AIFACS (New Delhi), NIV Art Centre (New Delhi), Academy of Fine Arts (Kolkata), Oriental Art Society (Kolkata), Lalit Kala Akademi (Chennai), Tagore Centre (Kolkata) and many other galleries. His works were exhibited in Group Shows in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Spain, Bangladesh. He also takes part in several Art Work Shops.
He has Curated, the Inaugural Edition of ‘Kolkata International Art Exhibition’ held in June, 2016 at the Prestigious Gallery of ‘Rabindranath Tagore Centre’ (Indian Council for Cultural Relations), Government Of India. He has visited Poland, Russia, China, Bangladesh, Estonia, Finland, Sweden and UK as an artist.
Gupta’s Works are being collected by ‘Dafen Art Museum’ Shenzhen China, Baltic Gallery of Contemporary Art in Poland, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and many art galleries, art Curators and general art lovers in India and abroad.
